Anchor Splash

During the week of May 6th - May 11th, 2019, Delta Gamma celebrated another extremely successful Anchor Splash, which was one of the highest participated in philanthropies in the Greek community! With help from their Delta Gamma coaches, 20 fraternity members competed for the coveted 2019 Anchorman title while raising funds for the DG National Foundation. Service for Sight and Aid to the Blind has funded extensive research, given grants to related schools and organizations, provided Braille books, guide dogs, and hundreds of other life-enhancing programs for those with visual impairments. This past year, Anchor Splash raised over $86,000!

Anchor Splash begins with the sign competition when participating fraternities fight to show the finest design and largest banner across the front of their house, showing off their Anchor Splash pride. The Mr. Beautiful Eyes coin drive competition goes on throughout the week where Delta Gamma's display pictures of each competitor's eyes on select campus locations. UW students decide who has the most beautiful pair through coin donations. On Friday, Pool Day, which this year was held at Phi Kappa Sigma, consists of synchronized swimming, the belly flop competition, and relay races. Last but not least is Skit Day held on Saturday in the Zeta Beta Tau parking lot.

The competitor's dedicate months to fundraising, training, and preparing for the unforgettable performances. After the men compete for the titles of Top Fundraiser, Mr. Personality, and Best Skit, our celebrity judges crown the winner of the 2019 Anchorman. As always, we encourage anyone, and everyone to participate and enjoy the entertainment and fun of Anchor Splash, while raising awareness and funds for an extremely beneficial cause!
